Kris Humphries Horrified by Villainous Kardashian Show Cameo (UPDATES)

Did you watch the second-season premiere of "Kourtney and Kim Take New York" on Sunday? We did so you didn't have to. (Also, because we've been brainwashed by Kris Jenner.) As expected, Kris Humphries came off like an immature doofus stuck in an awkward marriage to a beautiful but divalike reality princess. He whined incessantly about sharing living quarters at a posh Manhattan hotel with Kim Kardashian's sister, Kourtney, Kourtney's boyfriend Scott, and their adorable toddler son, Mason. Among his complaints: Mason's playroom was too close to his bedroom. At the end of the episode, the pro baller decided to take a break from newlywedded non-bliss and return to his native Minnesota for training; Kardashian, who'd reportedly been on his case off camera about working, fully supported that decision.

"There was nothing he could do about the NBA lockout, he was working out, and getting ready for the upcoming season, and he is a free agent," a Humphries source tells Radar Online. "It was actually Kim's idea that Kris go back to Minnesota to train and give them some distance. Kris wasn't getting any sleep at all with Mason's playroom literally set up outside their bedroom door. It made no sense for Mason's play area to be on the second floor of the suite Kim, Kris, Scott and Kourtney were staying in. Scott and Kourtney were staying downstairs, and Scott felt that the producers of the show were just trying to provoke him into reactions."

The source claims the 26-year-old soon-to-be-divorcee viewed Sunday's episode in "utter horror, because it's just not a true depiction about what was actually going on between Kim and Kris."

Hey, at least the ratings were good: despite growing backlash against all things Kardashian -- and a petition calling for a boycott of the fame-grubbing family's E! reality franchise -- the "Kim and Kourtney" premiere raked in 3.2 million viewers. (Last season's premiere snagged 3 million.)

Chalk those numbers up to public curiosity? Jenner's evil genius? Everyone loves a trainwreck, etc.

UPDATE: When contacted by The Famous, a rep for E! dismissed reports that show producers edited Humphries into a villain as "completely and utterly false."
