Swimming in the salty oceans or chlorinated pools while soaking up the sun this long weekend, will no doubt leave your tresses dried out, frizzy and brittle.
So we're providing you with our own tried and tested Do-It-Yourself recipes for home made deep-conditioners and masks, that will restore your hair to it's healthy state in no time and leave it soft to the touch with that lustrous glow.
Avocado and Mayo Hair Mask:
Ingredients: One ripe avocado and a small jar of real mayonnaise.
1. Peel the skin off one ripe avocado, then mash the avocado in a bowl.
2. Add 1 small jar of real mayonnaise to the avocado mash and mix it well until it turns creamy.
3. Apply it to your hair thoroughly and leave it for 20 minutes.
4. After 20 minutes, use a gentle hair shampoo and rinse your hair thoroughly.
Olive Oil Hair Deep Conditioning:
Ingredients: 5 tablespoons of Olive Oil and 2 eggs.
1. Place 5 tablespoons of olive oil into a bowl
2. Add 2 eggs, then mix the olive oil and eggs together.
3.Once the mixture is complete apply it to your wet already cleansed hair.
4. Cover your hair with a shower cap and allow it to set for 15 minutes.
5.After 15 minutes, rinse your hair thoroughly with water.
Egg and Yogurt Mask:
Ingredients: 2 eggs and a small jar of plain yogurt.
1. Beat the eggs until it turns foamy.
2. Now add the yogurt to the beaten eggs and mix all the ingredients together.
3. Thoroughly massage the mixture into your scalp (scalp massage) and then apply it to your hair.
4. Cover your hair with a plastic wrap.
5. Leave the mixture on your hair for 30 minutes and then wash it out using a mild shampoo.
6. Rinse your hair with cold water for best results.
TIP: For a delicious smelling hair mask, use either mayonnaise or yogurt as a base for your hair mask. Then add a food pulp which contains nutritious oils like cantaloupes, mangoes and bananas to it.
