'They raped me with their hands': Reporter Lara Logan reveals terrifying details of mob sex attack in Egypt

  • Correspondent reveals 200-strong mob 'tore her clothes to pieces'
  • 'I thought, not only am I going to die here, but it's going to be a torturous death'
Lara Logan has spoken out for the first time since her terrifying sexual assault in Egypt, describing how attackers 'raped her with their hands'.
The 39-year-old CBS foreign correspondent said she was convinced she was going to die when the frenzied mob tore her away from her film crew and bodyguard in Cairo's Tahrir Square.
A group of at least 200 men beat her, pinched her and tore at her clothes in a 40-minute attack that only ended when a group of women came to her aid.
She told the New York Times: 'For an extended period of time, they raped me with their hands...What really struck me was how merciless they were. 'They really enjoyed my pain and suffering. It incited them to more violence.'
She revealed the terrifying details in an interview with the newspaper today, and is expected to speak about her attack at greater length in an appearance on 60 Minutes on Sunday.
Ms Logan, who returned to work this month, has not previously spoken about the assault, which reverberated around the world and highlighted the dangers women face while reporting.
But she said these will be her first and last interviews about the vicious assault. She said: 'I don’t want this to define me.' She was attacked on February 11, on her first day back in the city - and the day Hosni Mubarak's government finally fell.
'What really struck me was how merciless they were. They really enjoyed my pain and suffering. It incited them to more violence'
She had been forced to leave a week before after she was detained and interrogated by Egyptian forces.
Ms Logan and her film crew made their way to Tahrir Square, where a jubilant crowd begged her for autographs.
But suddenly, as she was preparing a report for 60 Minutes, the mood turned violent. The camera battery went down, forcing the crew to stop.
As they worked to replace it her Egyptian cameraman heard one of the men in the crowd say he wanted to pull her pants down in Arabic. She told CBS: 'Suddenly, Bahar [the Egyptian cameraman] looks at me and says, "we've got to get out of here".
'I thought, not only am I going to die here, but it's going to be just a torturous death that's going to go on forever and ever and ever.' She told the Times: 'That was literally the moment the mob set on me.'
Jeff Fager, the chairman of CBS News, told the Times her producer, Max McClellan, and her two drivers were 'helpless because the mob was just so powerful'.
He said her bodyguard managed to hold on to her for a while, but the mob proved too strong and carried her away. Mr Fager said: 'For Max, to see the bodyguard come out of the pile without her, that was one of the worst parts.'
Ms Logan described how her hand was sore for days afterwards, and she only later realised it was because she had been holding on so tightly to her bodyguard's hand.
She told the Times: 'My clothes were torn to pieces.' The attack lasted 40 minutes. She was only rescued when a group of local women brought 20 Egyptian soldiers to her aid. Mr Fager said he hoped Sunday's interview would help raise awareness of the sexual violence women journalists face when reporting from conflict zones.
He said: 'There’s a code of silence about it that I think it is in Lara’s interest and in our interest to break.'
CBS immediately flew her back to the U.S. The channel posted guards outside her Washington home, where she hid herself away to recuperate along with her husband Joseph Burkett and their two young children.
Mr Fager said: 'She was quite traumatised, as you can imagine, for a period of time.'
Four days after the attack, he and Ms Logan drafted a statement released by CBS, until now the only official comment.
It said she had 'suffered a brutal and sustained sexual assault and beating before being saved by a group of women and an estimated 20 Egyptian soldiers'.
Ms Logan said she made the decision to speak out soon after the assault, on behalf of 'millions of voiceless women who are subjected to attacks like this and worse'.
She said the statement 'didn’t leave me to carry the burden alone, like my dirty little secret, something that I had to be ashamed of'.
While physical violence against men is often discussed by the media, sexual threats against female journalists are rarely mentioned.
Ms Logan said, with sexual violence 'you only have your word. The physical wounds heal. You don’t carry around the evidence the way you would if you had lost your leg or your arm in Afghanistan.'
Just two months after the attack, Ms Logan has already vowed to return to Afghanistan and other conflict zones, but said she has decided she will not return to Middle Eastern countries while widespread protests are ongoing.

She told the Times: 'The very nature of what we do - communicating information - is what’s undoing these regimes. It makes us the enemy, whether we like it or not.'
More than a dozen foreign journalists have been kidnapped in Libya since the uprising began there.
Times journalist Lynsey Addario said she was groped and harassed by her Libyan captors, a story which Ms Logan said was a 'setback' to her own recovery.

Amy Poehler Out-Delights Everyone at Time 100 Gala

If you are not already convinced that Amy Poehler is the most delightful woman on earth, then you haven’t witnessed Amy Poehler at a party. From the second she set foot inside Jazz at Lincoln Center for the Time 100 gala, Poehler turned into what could only be described as a cruise director. Here she was, grabbing Patrick McMullan to take a picture of her and Cecile Richards and all the other “kick-ass ladies” in the room. There she was, telling reporters what to write in their notebooks: “Martha Stewart arrived late, smelling of turkey.” She was on the scene when Patrick McMullan accidentally ripped the train of Blake Lively’s dress, gleefully crying out, “You ripped her dress! Patrick, you ripped her dress!” as if it were the greatest, most wonderful thing that had ever happened.
Inside the dinner, she was first and most enthusiastic to answer Bruno Mars’s calls to the crowd to get on their feet as he sang "Billionaire." She could be seen among the dinner stragglers, cornering Cory Booker and asking him if he watched The Wire. (We missed it, but we’re pretty sure she was telling him that she’d thought of the perfect character he could play on the show if they ever resurrected it for another season.) She even held court during the after-party, interrupting our interview (really nicely!) with George R.R. Martin to tell him what HUGE fans she and Seth Meyers are of Game of Thrones, and how much she loves all the nudity. As she left, among the very last guests, she kept fishing around for TV recommendations. We told her to watch The Good Wife, and since we have no reason to believe that Amy Poehler is not the most awesome human ever, we think she probably will.
Oh, and she also gave the best toast of the night. Poehler was introduced by Time executive editor Jim Frederick and was preceded by preacher Rob Bell. Here's what she said.
Well when I met Jim five minutes ago, I told him, “Move over! I’m a righty. And don’t let me follow a preacher.” Thanks for nothing, Jim. When Seth Meyers from Saturday Night Live and I hosted this awards show in 2008, I remember thinking it would be really nice if we were to make this list together. And tonight, I am happy to say that it is just as sweet making the list without him. I have so much influence; I am lousy with influence. I am what you call a connector. Bruno Mars is not here, but if he was, he would meet Aziz Ansari tonight, because I would introduce them. Chris Colfer, have you ever met Martha Stewart? Because I can I make that happen. Jonathan Franzen and Patti Smith are sitting at the same table. I know that because I’m on the list. If you shook my hand tonight, you might not want to drive home because you may be pulled over for a DUI. [Editor's note: This was her recycling a joke she’d used on us earlier in the evening ... Still delightful!] But tonight, I’m genuinely very humbled and honored to be part of this evening, so I would like to take my remaining minute to um … I have thought very hard and long about what has influenced me over the past couple of years, and since I have been at this dinner in 2008, I have given birth to two boys and I’ve left Saturday Night Live and I started my own TV show, and it’s been a crazy couple of years, and I thought who besides Madam Secretary Clinton and Lorne Michaels have influenced me? And it was the women who helped me take care of my children. It is Jackie Johnson from Trinidad and it is Dawa Chodon from Tibet, who come to my house and help me raise my children. And for you working women who are out there tonight who get to do what you get to do because there are wonderful people who help you at home, I would like to take a moment to thank those people, some of whom are watching their children right now, while you’re at this event. Those are people who love your children as much as you do, and who inspire them and influence them and on behalf of every sister and mother and person who stands in your kitchen and helps you love your child, I say thank you and I celebrate you tonight.

Chelsy Davy and Prince Harry: Back On?

For one night, at least, Prince Harry managed to wrestle the romantic spotlight away from his brother.
With Great Britain counting down the days until Prince William's April 29 wedding to Kate Middleton, Harry has made headlines over the weekend for appearing at a private London club with ex-girlfriend Chelsy Davy.
According to The Sun, the pair exited in the trunk of a Jaguar together around 4 a.m.

Security guards flanked the vehicle, but onlookers caught a glimpse of the on-again/off-again duo and told the newspaper: "Neither seemed the worse the wear for drink when they climbed in and they acted as if it was the most normal thing."
For Davy and Harry, it was the normal thing for five years, until a surprising split in November. On the heels of this hook-up, however, insiders say Harry has also invited Chelsy to his brother's nuptials.
They should officially be an item again in no time.

Jessica Alba Honestly Thinks She’s a Good Actress. Honest.

Apparently somewhere along the way, someone, somewhere, convinced Jessica Alba that she’s an actual, honest to goodness actress who isn’t just another pretty face. Look, I get it — some dude wanted to get in her pants and told her some big fat lies. But apparently it stuck, because from what we’ve been hearing from Jessica Alba lately is that she’s, uh, a really good actress who hasn’t really gotten the right parts to show off her wares yet. Or if she has, she’s been torpedoed either by bad writing or bad directors.

In an interview with Elle Magazine this month, Alba famously opined this on the topic of screenwriters and what it means to be a “good actor”:

Good actors, never use the script unless it’s amazing writing. All the good actors I’ve worked with, they all say whatever they want to say. Lest you think Alba was misquoted, she goes on to declare how bad directors have similarly clashed with her acting:

I remember when I was dying in ‘Silver Surfer. The director was like, ‘It looks too real. It looks too painful. Can you be prettier when you cry?… Don’t do that thing with your face. Just make it flat. We can CGI the tears in.’

It all got me thinking Am I not good enough? Are my instincts and my emotions not good enough? Do people hate them so much that they don’t want me to be a real person?… And so I just said, ‘F*** it. I don’t’ care about this business anymore.

Screenwriter John August (“Big Fish”, “Charlie and the Chocolate Factory “) took offense to her first quote about good scripts, writing on his blog:
Following your logic, you’ve never been in a movie with both good actors and amazing writing. That may be true, but it might hurt the feelings of David Wain, Robert Rodriguez and Frank Miller.

Again, I get it, Jessica Alba is desired and famous and she’s surrounded by Yes men and women who have convinced her she’s the greatest thing since sliced bread. I don’t blame her, but to go so publicly and say this stuff? Someone’s really been blowing lies in the girl’s ear.

Although, it could explain why she did Michael Winterbottom’s “The Killer Inside Me”, where she played a prostitute who gets murdered. That is probably her most daring and most “actress”-ish role to date. (And no, I don’t consider playing a stripper who never actually strips in “Sin City” to be very risque whatsoever.) The rest of her filmography? Not exactly signs that someone wants to be taken seriously as an actress, or someone who “just say whatever they want to say”. I’m just sayin’.

Below, Jessica flashes the acting skills to pay the bills:

Meghan McCain debuts mini makeover at Time 100: She bangs!

Meghan McCain arrived at the April 26 "Time 100" party in New York with a bit of a new look. Th senator's daughter, author and blogger arrived with her trademark curly blond locks all tied up so she could flash some distinctive new bangs.

Speaking with People, McCain also admits that she's also gone a little blonder. "Blonder is always better, for me," she says. "I'm from Arizona, which is like being from Texas. So I like big hair and blond hair -- and lots of makeup all the time."

The 26-year-old was one of the more fashion-forward presences at the event, also wearing a zipper-covered Alexander McQueen dress. So what do you think of McCain's blonder, bang-ier 'do? We're giving it a tentative vote of approval until we see it a few more times.

Diane Lane - Diane Lane Talks About Superman: Man of Steel

DIANE Lane has dished the dirt on new movie Superman: Man of Steel — revealing the flick will cover the superhero’s life from his childhood.
The actress — who has been cast as the caped crusader’s adoptive mother Martha Kent in the upcoming film — says she was locked in a room with the script for three hours to ensure the plot remains a secret — but still revealed that Superman’s origins will be covered.
“I read the script under lock and key. I was locked in a room with the script and was only allowed three hours with it. I nailed it into my memory. I’m really excited,” Diane explained.
“I’m really not allowed to talk much about it, I think, but it does cover the entire range of years, from infancy on.”
The brunette beauty is set to star alongside Henry Cavill in the movie which is being directed by Zack Snyder.
Diane — who raises 17-year-old daughter Eleanor with husband Josh Brolin — recently insisted that “willing to be wrong” makes her marriage work.
“It’s staying grateful, humble, willing to be wrong and thinking about the other person at least as much as you think about yourself,” she said.
“Put yourself in the other person’s moccasins, you know?”

Jodie Foster talks Mel Gibson and ‘The Beaver’

Jodie Foster’s allegiance to friend and colleague Mel Gibson has been well-documented. But as the promotional efforts for their movie, “The Beaver,” continue to ramp up ahead of its May 6 release, it’s something that she will undoubtedly be reiterating, as she did in a recent video interview with me.
I had the opportunity to talk first-hand with Foster about Gibson and her reasons for casting him in “The Beaver,” a film that Foster both directed and co-stars in as Gibson’s wife.
In the first portion of a multi-part video interview, the actress explains what made her immediately think of her “Maverick” co-star for the role of a deeply depressed man who turns to a beaver puppet for solace.
“It’s a film about a man who’s struggling,” she says. “And I think that he is someone who has struggled in his life with many things, and who’s really interested in coming to terms with that.”

After the jump, watch another clip of Foster discussing her feelings about the recent 30th anniversary of the attempted assassination of Ronald Reagan — a news story that she became forever intwined with due to John Hinckley, Jr.’s well-publicized interest in her — and why she’ll never set up a Twitter account.
The rest of my interview with Foster will be posted here in Celebritology in the coming days.

Britney Spears Getting Fatter

BRITNEY Spears is in a bad place!
The singer downs booze, pills & junk food to fight depression — and it’s causing her to pile on the pounds, reports American tabloid the National Enquirer.
“In just the last six months, Britney has gone from 118 pounds to nearly 150, her heaviest ever,” a source said.
“I think her meds probably keep her focused and under control, but they increase her appetite and pile on the pounds.
“Britney’s depression has escalated in the last six or seven months and she drinks alcohol and eats junk food to cope, gorging on burgers and tacos, high-sugar sodas, chips and blended coffee drinks.”
Recent reports claimed Spears wants to revive her acting career.
The If You Seek Amy hitmaker is said to have been encouraged to explore her movie and TV options following a number of recent cameo roles.
“Britney is very mindful that she has to evolve as an artist now she is heading towards her thirties,” revealed a source close to the star.
“Music will always be a part of her life but she has come to love acting and comedy especially. She is currently considering a few scripts — one is a comedy and a kind of parody of the pop star she is and the other is a more serious role which is an action movie.”

Rebecca Black : Death Threat Drama For Teen Singer Rebecca Black!

REBECCA Black is experiencing the downsides of fame.

The Internet sensation has been left reeling after receiving a string of anonymous death threats, which police are now investigating.
One death threat was made by phone call and one by email. What did these death threats order her to do? Remove her music from the Internet.
Black, 13, became an internet sensation when her song Friday surpassed 100 million views on YouTube. She is reportedly working on a new single entitled LOL.

Lady GaGa Gets Angry, Uses The Word Retarded!

LADY GaGa hasn’t been ripping off Madonna!
The Poker Face singer was recently asked whether her hit song Born This Way was a knock-off of Madge’s Express Yourself.
“I’m a songwriter,” GaGa replied.
I’ve written loads of music. Why would I try to put out a song and think I’m getting one over on everybody? That’s retarded.

“What a completely ridiculous thing to even question me about… If you put the songs next to each other, side by side, the only similarities are the chord progression. It’s the same one that’s been in disco music for the last 50 years.

Just because I’m the first f***ing artist in 25 years to think of putting it on Top 40 radio, it doesn’t mean I’m a plagiarist, it means that I’m f***ing smart. Sorry.”

DEMI Lovato Says She Has Bipolar Disorder

DEMI Lovato has got it bad.
The actress — who recently opened up about her battle with anorexia and bulimia — has revealed she’s also battling bipolar disorder.
“I never found out until I went into treatment that I was bipolar,” she told People magazine.

“Looking back it makes sense. There were times when I was so manic, I was writing seven songs in one night and I’d be up until 5:30 in the morning.
“I feel like I am in control now where my whole life I wasn’t in control.
“What’s important for me now is to help others.”

Louis-Dreyfus is ‘Veep’ in new HBO comedy

Julia Louis-Dreyfus is set to play the vice president in a new HBO comedy.
The network said Monday it has ordered the new comedy series, “Veep,” and expects it to debut in fall 2012. Louis-Dreyfus plays a former senator who becomes vice president and finds the job is everything she was warned about.

As a featured player in “Seinfeld” and star of “The New Adventures of Old Christine,” Louis-Dreyfus has a strong track record in TV comedy.
The series was created by Armando Iannucci, who earned an Oscar nomination for writing “In the Loop.” He’s an executive producer along with Frank Rich, a former New York Times columnist.

Said Louis-Dreyfus: Although everyone says this is a comedy, I don’t think there is anything funny at all about me being a heartbeat away from the presidency.

Selena Gomez on UNICEF, Giving Back, and Growing Up

Disney stardom has created some epic successes- and fails. From Lindsay (jail, again) to Vanessa (naked pictures) to Britney (shaved head), preteen celebs all-grown up have become something to fear. There’s an important sense of reality that seems just out of reach when the going gets really good.
Regardless, there will always be famous kids.  There’s a new generation of them shining through now. With luck, they will outclass the stereotypes that precede them, starting with Selena Gomez.
Selena Gomez has lived her life in front of cameras since acting in Barney & Friends at seven years old. Now nearly nineteen, she’s most famously known as the cool, sleuthy, high-schooling Alex Russo from The Wizards of Waverly Place. This year will be the show’s final season, which means a new stage for this celeb.
She keeps up the fierce duality of acting and music like a star of today’s standards.  Beyond shooting her series finale and a new movie, preparing to tour for her third album, releasing a clothing line, reportedly dating Justin Beiber, and just being young, Selena has found a philanthropic alliance with UNICEF that seems to benefit them both.  ”Whenever I explain to people about going on my trip, I always end up saying that I left Africa gaining more than I did for those kids because I felt incredibly humble,” she says as we discuss the Celebrity Tap Project, a program that focuses on the lifesaving importance of clean water worldwide.
It turns out Selena has more balance than you’d expect from a fame-bearing teenager. She’s comfortable with acknowledging that she doesn’t know everything, but can admit that she has a lot.  There’s humility that comes with her wide-eyed hope for a more caring youth that makes it clear why UNICEF chose her to be their youngest brand ambassador to date.
What exactly does it mean to be a UNICEF brand ambassador?
They are basically using my voice and my platform to educate kids. I’m able to take trips with them. I’m able to be educated on what they’re doing. the next step of making the number zero from having 14,000 children die a day from preventable causes. That’s why I was one of the first people to become part of the Tap Project this year.
Does your philanthropy drive you to educate yourself more about what’s going on in the world?
Yes and no, the best thing about being a part of these things is that I don’t have to grow up.  I’ve made videos on YouTube and I’ve talked to my fans about it- like I had an acoustic show for UNICEF a while back where I had fans come in and ask me questions about UNICEF and I was able to say, “look I don’t know a lot of the things that I want to learn and that’s what I’m trying to encourage everyone else to do”.
I will be honest, when I went to Ghana, I had no idea what I was going to go see or what it was, I had no idea of any of it. I had my fans on Twitter ask me what Ghana is like, “what’s Ghana”, or, “where’s Ghana”, and I was able to say, you guys can Google it, look it up, or do something.  So its nice because I’m not 35 years old and I don’t know lot about all of the things that go on in the world. I’m able to grow up with my fans and able to grow up with UNICEF, having them trust me and know that I genuinely want to learn and that I genuinely want to know what’s going on.
Are these things you keep in mind when you make professional and entrepreneurial decisions?
I feel like my life is sometimes extremely superficial. And it makes that superficialness go away in my mind. Because I do love what I do. I do think that sometimes it can be very selfish and vain. I mean I’m in two hours of hair and makeup and walking red carpets and things like that. So i feel really really happy when I connect with UNICEF.  With my clothing line, we did something for Trick or Treat. We did a UNICEF tshirt- we sold two tshirts and all the funds went to UNICEF. Its fun to kind of incorporate that in what I do.
What do you want your fans to walk away with as a result of those efforts?
I would hope that they just feel good about doing something good. And just want to be better to everybody. Not just to people in foreign countries that we dont know and are less fortunate than us but somebody, your neighbor, or someone down the street, or someone at school, something.
Things your friends are doing are leaning towards philanthropy, too. Taylor Swift is also part of this program, and it seems like you are pretty good friends.
Yea, I’m so stoked that she is on, I love her. I think that’s what it’s about, obviously sharing it with everybody.  I met a girl who was twelve years old and she and her friends raised $3,000 for UNICEF because she read in a magazine that I was working with them. That blew my mind. She did car washes, she did things at her school. That does feel incredible and I hope that continues.
I read something about Justin Beiber asking his fans to donate to a clean water program for his birthday.
See that’s what I love. That’s definitely something that is really cool to have a part of anybody not just him, but everyone.
Here is Selena’s Tap Project commercial produced by Droga5.

Kelly Osbourne - A Bitch, Not A Slut!!

KELLY Osbourne would rather be a “bitch” than a “slut”.
The feisty Fashion Police star says her mother Sharon Osbourne always encouraged her to stand up for herself when she was growing up and as a result she will never let anyone walk all over her.
“Well, it’s one of two things,” Kelly said. “This is something that my mom taught me when we’re growing up in the industry and I don’t know how to word this, but you’re either a sl*t or a b***h, and I would rather be a b***h.
“I don’t want to, like, be a bulldog or anything. But I do get that from my mom. And I have this thing ever since I was a kid, like, if I don’t like someone, I just don’t like them.”
“I think it’s a thing of just being who you are and not taking any c**p from people,” Sharon added. “You stand up for what you believe in. And you stand up for your family and yourself and that’s it.”
Kelly has battled drug addiction in the past but despite her family’s pleas for her to get help, she admitted she only decided to get clean and go to rehab when she realized she “wanted to die”.
“I woke up one day and I couldn’t believe that I was hoping that if I took a bit more that I wouldn’t wake up in the morning. And that’s what really scared me. I was just like I can’t believe I have become this person,” she said.
“This is who I am. And this is what I sat in my bedroom by myself praying for. It’s a huge wake-up call. You know, I spent most of my teenage years messed up and miserable. And I had one of two options: die or sort myself out. I chose to sort myself out.”

Angelina Jolie’s Jewelry Line: “Chic and Contemporary”

You’ve seen the serious sparklers, but just what went into the creation of Angelina Jolie‘s new jewelry line, Style of Jolie? “She has been involved, every step of the way,” jeweler Robert Procop tells PEOPLE. “She wanted to create some beautiful art around jewels with the mission of helping children.” Jolie and Procop, who’s styled the actress in the past, started the project in August of 2010, creating storyboards, researching gems and metals and considering various designs. “Angelina has a very classic style. She is very chic and contemporary,” Procop explains. “[The collection] is what she enjoys wearing on the red carpet, but also what she enjoys wearing when she’s at home. It’s also what she enjoys giving as a gift.” In fact, at Christmas, Brad Pitt gifted Jolie with a bracelet similar to the the five-row white quartz tablet bracelet (above) after seeing her design. Another piece the actress particularly loves is the Angelina Jolie exceptional emerald necklace (above), containing 44 green gems totaling 103.48 carats. “It’s probably one of the finest collections of cushion emeralds ever assembled,” Procop says. “The stones are just so bright.” Though the line — which features pieces starting at $4,000 and benefits the Education Partnership for Children of Conflict — is only available to private clients at the moment, Procop hints that later this year, a more accessible retail version will hit the market. But for now, the jewels are hitting the road: after a short stint in Beverly Hills, they’ll move on to a gallery in Monaco for about two weeks. Seems they’re following in the footsteps of their jet-setting creator! Tell us: What do you think of Jolie’s jewelry line?

Miley Cyrus says her family is fine

LOS ANGELES – Miley Cyrus says she feels more at ease heading out on an international tour now that things are fine on the home front.

Earlier this year, her parents, Billy Ray and Tish Cyrus, were getting a divorce, and her father was critical of his daughter's behavior. But the Cyruses recently called off their divorce and the family is spending time together.

"I think it's good, especially when you go on the road. You have to make sure everyone is happy before you start traveling, you're away. My family is good. They are stoked for tour. As long as I'm happy they are happy," Cyrus said in an interview on Thursday.

The former "Hannah Montana" star is leaving for South America and Australia on April 27 for her Gypsy Heart Tour. It will be the first time Cyrus, whose most recent album is titled "Can't Be Tamed," has gone to South America, and she's excited — even though she won't be able to communicate with her fans in their language.

"I speak zero Spanish. I actually failed Spanish so I will have someone with me making sure I can get through my way," she said.

She recently released one of the album's songs, "Every Rose Has Its Thorn," in Australia, and said she's excited to sing the Poison cover (which featured Bret Michaels) there live. But she won't be releasing that song in the United States, and right now, she has no plans to tour in her native country either.

"I just think right now America has gotten to a place where I don't know if they want me to tour or not. Right now I just want to go to the places where I am getting the most love and Australia and South America have done that for me," she said. "Kind of going to the places where I get the most love. Don't want to go anywhere where I don't feel completely comfortable with it."

Kelly Ripa on her ‘All My Children’ days (video)

Kelly Ripa, the energetic sidekick to cranky ol’ Regis Philbin, got her first big acting break playing Hayley Vaughan Santos on the recently deceased soap “All My Children.” On “Live! With Regis and Kelly,” Ripa took a look back at her time on the show with footage featuring the TV personality in a horrible black wig, a fake marriage to her real husband, Mark Consuelos, and some other very soapy moments. Enjoy.
