T-ara is a Korean girl group from Seoul, South Korea formed by Mnet Media in 2009. Before their debut, there was a high level of interest in the group as they were called "Super Rookies" and had been training for 3 years prior to debut. Early June 2009, T-ara, a 5-member girl group, had its former leader Jiae and fellow member Jiwon quit the group, believing that the concept of T-ara did not match them. 3 weeks before T-ara's official debut, Jeon Boram, Soyeon, and Qri were added into T-ara. Thus making T-ara a 6-member girl group debuting with their hit single, Lies.
